When: Auditions by Appointment for a replacement for Tranio, servant to Lucentio.
Want to arrange replacement as soon as possible.

Rehearsals

(Audition with short music selection, a cappella or with tape-no accompanist will be available. May sing an appropriate contemporary selection for audition. “I Hate Men,” “Brush Up Your Shakespeare, ” etc. Anyone who plays a lute or other Renaissance instrument is also welcome to audition.

The Magical Forest

Performance dates October 24 – November 23

Chloe Flower, a teenager exposed to toxic waste discovers an incredible green world aided by an eccentric Gnome in a magical forest where anything can happen! The World premiere of a magical musical for people of all ages. “Another Day,” “Life’s A Dump,” and “When You Believe.”

The Coronado Playhouse will be holding auditions by appointment for the world premiere of

THE MAGICAL FOREST,

a musical by Eric Scot Frydler, an award-winning composer and producer.

Audition will be on Thursday, July 24th and Friday, July 25th from 7pm-10pm. Call backs will take place on Saturday, July 26th from 10am-1pm

Some roles have been pre-cast. Remaining singing roles as follows -

Mother Nature, the Spirit of Nature - Soprano, jazz/blues experience a plus - Age 20-50 - Major Support

Marsha, Queen of the Marsh - Soprano, operatic experience a plus - Age 20-50 - Major Support

King Ragwort - Baritone/Tenor - Age 20-50 - Major Support

Termite Rapper - Bass, rapping experience a plus - Age 18-40 - Minor Support

Lookee Loos (4 or 5 roles) - Singing and dancing experience a plus - Age 10-18 - Ensemble

Stinging Nettle Sisters (2 or 3 roles) - Singing experience a plusAge 16-30 - Ensemble

Everyone attending should bring a résumé and b/w photo. All those auditioning for a singing role should be prepared to sing a 1-2 minute piece, either a cappella (without accompaniment) or to your own CD. Piano accompanist will be available for call backs. The choreographer will be available to teach routines. Everyone (except those auditioning for an ensemble role) should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from a comedy or drama. No advance copies of the script are available. These will be closed auditions.

Please prepare 2 contrasting audition songs. Monologue optional.

The Magical Forest will run from October 24th through November 23rd. Performances will be Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
